What is HubCAPP

• The Hub of Commissioned Alcohol Projects and
  Policies (HubCAPP) aims to
• Identify and share examples of local alcohol
  initiatives or projects throughout England.
• Give the back story on the policy decisions,
  levers and strategies that took place to bring an
  initiative into existence.

Why have a Hub?

• To share information
• To share knowledge
• Show links between projects and strategies
• Keep alcohol on the government agenda

How does HubCAPP link to national policy

• Safe Sensible Social local action, national
  policy
• All areas doing Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategies
  central collation of information
• All areas need to meet PSAs and LAA entries on
  the Hub can show how they are achieving these and
  can learn from other examples

What types of practice are included?

• The Hub focuses on identifying and sharing local
  and regional practice in relation to reducing
  alcohol harm.
• We including information on
• alcohol harm prevention strategies
• intervention approaches such as screening and
  brief interventions
• needs analysis and strategic planning

What is being collected?

• Project aims and objectives
• Background and planning processes
• Links to local and national strategies
• Evaluation, monitoring and learning
• Project costs and staffing
• Any documentation - job descriptions, reports
  that people might want to include
• Local Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategies

Current steps

• Hub website is live www.hubcapp.org.uk
• Over the coming months we will add
• More projects
• Increased functionality including ability to
  upload and manage own entries
• Develop e-bulletins to highlight new projects and
  case studies showing Policy to Practice
• 17 projects on the hub, 56 close to sign off,
  total of 126 projects and 26 strategies known
