• Tech roles vary with job titles and descriptions
• Coordination of additional tech training
• Communication-Are we speaking the same language?
• Media role- more managerial, less
  information/instruction
• Increased tech time for media staff
• Cost for additional resources and personnel
• -training of teachers, students, self
• -troubleshooting availability/responsibility
• -budgeting additional hardware and software
• -adding clerical staff

What to do with an IT?

• Start w/curriculum, teaching strategies, then add
  tech
• Partnership with teachers, businesses, and
  district
• Train on reliable machines with real life issues
  and lesson plans
• Ensure tech access
• Employ students (STARS) (Morrison)
• Motivate by modeling
• Develop help desk, cheat sheets, handbooks
• Use Administrators as trainers- follow the
  leader

• Add aides for clerical duties
• Promote LMSs role
• Keep focus on learning, information, and books
• Network, Network, Network-people, information,
  and ideas
• Develop Tech Teams
• to create vision based on needs and curriculum
• to ensure training implementation
• to facilitate purchases
• to create support system of peer collaboration

• Be familiar with research and trends
• Organize, publicize, teach, promote technology
• Involve district in planning and programs
• Integrate technology with other school plans
• Converse with colleagues regarding technology
• Promote best teaching practices
• Offer more instruction/practice for technophobic
• Promote online staff development
• Attend grade/subject meetings with suggestions
