3eAuthentication Employee Self-Registration
To obtain a USDA eAuthentication employee
credential, employees should go to the
eAuthentication web site, where information
entered by the employee will be compared to
payroll and personnel data at the National
Finance Center (NFC). Employees should feel
assured that the information entered is handled
through secure channels and is used only to
validate the employees identity against
information already known and stored at NFC. If
all of the data entered by the employee matches
the data held at NFC, the employee will be
electronically issued a USDA eAuthentication
service credential (user ID and password) with
Level 2 assurance.

A small percentage of employees will encounter
problems with this process due to discrepancies
between the data you enter and the payroll data
on file. You may encounter the following
results

- All data entered matches NFC data
- You will be asked to create a username and
password, then will receive an email to activate
your account. - Data does not exactly match due to a typo or
other minor discrepancy - You will be asked to create a username and
password. - The eAuthentication team will receive an email,
will manually verify your data, and then will
validate your account. - You will then receive an email to activate your
account. -

should contact your HR Representative or Agency

once Forest Service registration opens in August.
