Natural Stone Flooring - Slate

• Slate
• made from sediment, water, chemical reactions,
  erosion
• made by nature, sedimentary stone
• brittle, splits into sheets
• colors vary
• usually blue-gray, also black, green, red

• fine grained
• cut into thin slabs of stone
• installed in random patterns/sizes, may be cut to
  modular sizes
• Terrazzo
• formed by broken marble pieces mixed with marble
  dust and adhesive
• formed into tiles, but mostly poured into
  patterns separated by zinc or copper strips
