- Ensure that work done to satisfy an element of
a BC P2 Plan would also satisfy a similar
requirement of a federal CEPA P2 Plan,
Etc. - Avoid Contradiction or duplication with
Federal or GVRD P2 Planning

Required Entry Criteria
  • The Company Must be Committed to
  • Undertaking the P2 planning process
  • Developing the capability to measure and manage
    inputs and outputs
  • Initiating and sustaining a community involvement
    process
  • Providing information and orientation to all
    stakeholders involved in the P2 planning process
  • Provide adequate resources (including staff) to
    undertake P2 planning
  • Long-term process of performance monitoring,
    evaluation and continuous improvement
  • An open and co-operative process with government
    and the public

Draft Recommendations
  • The draft report currently contains 41 specific
    recommendations. A few are described below
  • A 25 reduction for two years in waste discharge
    fees for entry to the P2 planning process
  • The above fee reduction should continue beyond 2
    years provided performance both
  • - exceeds target in the P2 Plan, and
  • - goes beyond statutory performance requirements

  • The province should consider tax incentives for
    P2 investments
  • Names of companies and committees involved in P2
    planning be published annually on a government
    environmental recognition list
  • A multistakeholder advisory group should guide
    the province-wide implementation
