 26While they were eating, Jesus took bread,
gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his
disciples, saying, Take and eat this is my
body.   27Then he took the cup, gave thanks and
offered it to them, saying, Drink from it, all
of you. 28This is my blood of the covenant, which
is poured out for many for the forgiveness of
sins. 29I tell you, I will not drink of this
fruit of the vine from now on until that day when
I drink it anew with you in my Father's
kingdom. - Matthew 26

63 .The high priest said to him, I charge you
under oath by the living God Tell us if you are
the Christ, the Son of God.  64Yes, it is as
you say, Jesus replied. But I say to all of
you In the future you will see the Son of Man
sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and
coming on the clouds of heaven.  65Then the
high priest tore his clothes and said, He has
spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more
witnesses? Look, now you have heard the
blasphemy. 66What do you think? He is
worthy of death, they answered.  67Then they
spit in his face and struck him with their fists.

33They came to a place called Golgotha (which
means The Place of the Skull). 35When they had
crucified him, they divided up his clothes by
casting lots. 36And sitting down, they kept watch
over him there. 37Above his head they placed the
written charge against him THIS IS JESUS, THE
KING OF THE JEWS. 45From the sixth hour until
the ninth hour darkness came over all the land.
46About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud
voice, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?which
means, My God, my God, why have you forsaken
me?   50And when Jesus had cried out again in
a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. 51At that
moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two
from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks
split. 52The tombs broke open and the bodies of
many holy people who had died were raised to
life. 53They came out of the tombs, and after
Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city
and appeared to many people.  54When the
centurion and those with him who were guarding
Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had
happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed,
Surely he was the Son of God! - Matthew

altar, he shall bring forward the live goat. 21
He is to lay both hands on the head of the live
goat and confess over it all the wickedness and
rebellion of the Israelitesall their sinsand
put them on the goat's head. -

the Most Holy Place, the tent of meeting and the

goat away into the wilderness in the care of

time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many
people. He will come again, not to deal with our
sins, but to bring salvation to all who are
eagerly waiting for him. -

11 Day after day every priest stands and performs
his religious duties again and again he offers
the same sacrifices, which can never take away
sins. 12 But when this priest had offered for all
time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the
right hand of God. 13Since that time he waits for
his enemies to be made his footstool, 14because
by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever
those who are being made holy.

  6 Therefore let all the faithful pray to you
       while you may be found        surely
the rising of the mighty waters        will not
reach them.   7 You are my hiding place       
you will protect me from trouble        and
surround me with songs of deliverance.   8 I
will instruct you and teach you in the way you
should go      I will counsel you with my
loving eye on you.   9 Do not be like the horse
or the mule,        which have no understanding
       but must be controlled by bit and bridle
       or they will not come to you. 10 Many
are the woes of the wicked,        but the
LORD's unfailing love        surrounds those who
trust in him. 11 Rejoice in the LORD and be
glad, you righteous        sing, all you who
are upright in heart! - Psalm
