- DOI/FGDC federal partners have reviewed several
options to implement governance committee - Consensus advice from OMB, DOI Solicitors
Office, and GSA Office of Committee Management is
that a committee organized under the Federal
Advisory Committee Act (FACA) is most effective
means to establish national geospatial advisory
body.

- DOI and FGDC will work collaboratively with
partners to develop and establish committee. - FGDC is developing a draft charter and potential
membership categories for review by DOI, OMB,
agencies, and external partners. - The initial draft proposal will be presented to
the FGDC Steering Committee at the October 23,
2006 meeting.
