Actual Airport Operations

• Arrivals
• Aircraft sits at jetbridge for one hour (deplane
  pax, unload bags)
• Aircraft is then towed from terminal to
  maintenance
• Departures
• Aircraft towed from maintenance to terminal one
  hour before departure time

• Create dummy runway at maintenance area
• Arrival flights have a turnaround departure
  flight assigned to a dummy departure queue and
  dummy route at the dummy runway

• Departure flight modeled as an arrival to the
  dummy runway that then taxies (tows) to the
  terminal gate
• Turnaround flight is then the actual departure

• Advantages
• Uses standard taxi logic and taxipaths

• Disadvantages
• Tow speed same as Gnd_Link Taxispeed
• Must create dummy runway, routes, departure
  queue, and procedures

Cautions

• If have very short dummy runway, should
  probably create short landing takeoff rolls
  assigned to it.
• Dont include dummy airspace nor departure
  queue delays in statistical analyses.
• Be careful on scheduling departures so that they
  tow to gate and spend appropriate length of time
  before pushing-back
