Click projects. Click the project title.

project and activities to get you started. -
- Read the project, then scroll down to the
activities and resources!
9How do I access the Nexus Community?
- For detailed instructions, click on the first
activity title and follow the instructions to
create your first Daily Lesson Plan! - OR
- Click on the Nexus for your grade level to go
straight to that Nexus Community.
10How do I access the CPS SBCI document template?
- The Work Areas page appears.
- Click the Work Area title.
- Click Create Document.

- Enter your lesson plan title.
- Select the CPS Daily Lesson Plan document
template.

13How do I complete the document template?
- To select grades and learning areas, click Edit.
14How do I complete the document template?
- From the drop down menus, select the Date
including the Month, Day, Year, Quarter, and Week
you lesson is for. - Check the Grade Level/s and Learning Area/s your
lesson is for. - Click Save.
15Selecting ILS
- The Document page appears in edit mode.
- When Grades and Learning Areas are displayed you
can Illinois Learning Standards. - To add Illinois Learning Standards, click Insert
Benchmark.
16Selecting ILS
- The Choose an ISBE Benchmark page appears.
- The Learning Areas and Standard Level you have
selected are listed with the benchmarks from
those areas. - To view the benchmarks, click the triangle icon
- To add a benchmark to your DLP, click Select.
17Adding Descriptors
- The Document page appears in edit mode.
- To select a performance descriptor, click Insert
Descriptor.
18Activity assessment
- Check the performance descriptors that best
describe what your students will learn from this
lesson plan.
19Reviewing your work
- The Document page appears in edit mode.
- FYI The information you are adding is saved. To
remove any information, click Remove. - You may Insert another Benchmark or scroll down
to the next section. - You may come back and edit this section at any
time.
20Adding text
- To add text to the Assessments CRI section of the
page, click Add. - A new section appears.
- Click Click here to insert text.
- The Add and Edit Text page appears.
- Type or copy and paste your text and click Save.
21The Lesson Plan
- Your Daily Lesson Plan Document Template appears
in Edit view. - To edit your text, click the pencil icon or go to
the next section.
22Adding media
- A new section appears that contains an insert
file icon and an insert text icon. - Continue down the page clicking Add when you have
information to be added and the Insert box when
you have text or media to insert. You may add as
many items in each area as needed. - You can contribute many different file types in
this section.
