• 1) Materialistic View

Man is a portion of matter composed of hydrogen,
carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium, and other
elements.
Total chemical value 5.00 to 10.00
Man is a mass of chemicals.

• 2) Biological View

Man is an animal with a highly developed nervous
system. He is the most highly evolved of all
animals. Through a process of natural selection
and survival of the fittest, he remains an
animal. (Darwin)

• 3) Psychological View

Man is a creature wholly formed by heredity an
environment and all he does is determined by
that. Freedom is an illusion. The conscious
life is determined by animal instincts embedded
in the unconscious. (Freud)
God, morality, and conscience represent a
projection of psychological need.

• 4) Economic View

You are what you eat.
The fundamental fact about man is the class
struggle based on an economic determination the
relationship between producers and consumers.

No religion basis for man religion is an
illusion.

• 5) Sociological View

Everything about man is determined by group
mores, customs, and prejudices. Society is the
great being society is God.
Nazi Statement I am not an individual
personality but a member of the German Race. The
State, the Clan, or the Family comes first.

• 6) Philosophical View

Man is the animal that thinks. What is unique
about man is his mind. Man is essentially
reason. (Plato, Aristotle)
Man is what he thinks.Education virtue,
destiny, satisfaction.

• 7) Existentialist View

Man is what he makes himself to be. The call is
to live creatively to fulfill every potentiality
to become the super man.
I act, therefore, I am. (Sartre, Nietzsche)
Man is nothing but what he makes himself to be.
Action makes man fully human. God is within.

• The Divine Revelation of Man

(Ps. 84-8) What is man that You are mindful of
him, And the son of man that You visit him? For
You have made him a little lower than the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
You have made him to have dominion over the works
of Your hands You have put all things under his
feet, All sheep and oxen-- Even the beasts of
the field, The birds of the air, And the fish of
the sea That pass through the paths of the seas.

• 1. Man is created in the image of God.

(Gen. 126a) Then God said, "Let Us make man in
Our image, according to Our likeness

• 2. Man is above the animal world.

(Gen. 125-26) And God made the beast of the
earth according to its kind, cattle according to
its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth
according to its kind. And God saw that it was
good. Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our
image, according to Our likeness let them have
dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds
of the air, and over the cattle, over all the
earth and over every creeping thing that creeps
on the earth."

• 3. Man is under God.

(Ps. 85) For You have made him a little lower
than the angels, And You have crowned him with
glory and honor.
When man moves out from under God there are
consequences.

• 4. Man is to reflect the likeness of God.

(Gen. 51-2) This is the book of the genealogy of
Adam. In the day that God created man, He made
him in the likeness of God. He created them male
and female, and blessed them and called them
Mankind in the day they were created.
Man is to have Gods morality, judgment, and
feelings.

• 5. Man is to reflect Gods character.

(Eph. 423-24) and be renewed in the spirit of
your mind, and that you put on the new man which
was created according to God, in true
righteousness and holiness.
(Lev. 192) "Speak to all the congregation of the
children of Israel, and say to them "You shall
be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.

• 6. Man is a triune creation.

(1Thes. 523) Now may the God of peace Himself
sanctify you completely and may your whole
spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at
the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

• If we are to become whole, we must confess

- I was created by GOD!
- I will only be fulfilled as I fulfill Gods
plan and destiny for me.
- My spirit is to be in control of my mind,
will, and emotions.
- My body and soul are to be tools of my spirit.
- My redeemed spirit has the highest form of
energy available to me.
