HY-1B
Chinese ocean monitoring satellite HY-1B was
launched April 11, 2007. Images are released
daily now. Data will be free, but need to apply,
then via FPT to access.

• Project officially started in April 2007

SOAs new ocean data assimilation system
SOAs National Marine Environmental Forecast
Center (NMEFC) will start an operational ocean
analysis system later August, 2007. The main
features of system are Domain Tropic Pacific
Input data altimetry, XBT and Argo Data
assimilation scheme 3DVAR, multivariate (T and
S) OGCM 1 by 2 degree and 14 layers
Product 3D T, S, U, V period 2001-now
Availability of the product will be available
soon from internet
This NMEFC operation system was originally
developed by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics
(IAP), Chinese Academy. Through a two-year phase
of transit, NMEFC and IAP collaborated and put it
into operation.
