Mendeleev's Magic Castle

• You and your friends have been transported to a
  castle where each room is made out of an element.
  
• Once you go through 10 rooms you will escape
• Elements are from the first 3 rows of the
  periodic table
• No element is repeated

Room 1

• You're in a shiny metal room.
• This room has been composed of an element which
  is strong, lightweight, corrosion resistant,
  containing 13 protons and 3 valance electrons.
• It is the most abundant metal in the earth's
  crust.

Room 2

• This room is made of a clear, life-giving gas.
• I is a nonmetallic, diatomic gas that comprises
  20 of normal air. It combines with other
  elements to form oxides.
• Diatomic made up of two atoms of the same
  element ex O2, H2

Room 3

• The room is made from a green-yellow gas that
  burns your eyes and throat, so you put a gas mask
  on.
• This diatomic gas is a halogen.
• Halogen nonmetal elements that combine to form
  salts, located near the far right of the Periodic
  Table.

• The atoms of this element have 6 valance
  electrons.

• This room is made of clear gas in a high tower of
  the castle.
• Your voice sounds squeaky.
• The atoms of this element are also molecules.
• Molecule smallest part of a compound

• This room is made of a silver-grey metallic
  solid.
• You cut a piece off with the knife, but it burns
  your skin.
• This element reacts violently with water.

• This room has white, waxy walls.
• With the lights off, it glows in the dark!
• This element occurs in teeth and bones as calcium
  phosphate.

Room 8

• This room is made of shiny, silvery metal.
• If combined with traces of other elements it
  becomes a semi-conductor that is used in circuits
  of electronic devices.
• It and oxygen are the two elements that make sand
  but not diamonds.
• Semi-Conductor easily tranfer the flow of
  electrons (electricity)

• This gas has no color, taste, or odor.
• An atom of this element has 2 electrons in its
  first shell and 5 in its second shell.
• It makes up 80 of normal air and can be used for
  laughing gas.

• This room is made of a soft white material.
• The atoms of this element have low electron
  affinity and will replace hydrogen atoms when
  placed into water.
• This room is on the second floor of the castle.
• Electron affinity force that attracts elements
  to other elements and keeps them bonded together.
