Early Childhood

• In 1977, when Tony was nine, his brother Steve
  gave him a skateboard
• He began going to the skate park every day
• Tony began to invent tricks of his own

• In 1980, when Tony was twelve, Dogtown sponsored

• In 1983, Powell Peralta thought Tony was ready to
  become a pro
• In 1986, Tony graduated, and by the late 1980s,
  he had many sponsors

• In 1991, Tony and one of his friends quit Powell
  and started Birdhouse
• He was the greatest ramp skater of all time
• Tony made a wish list of tricks he wanted to do
  by the late 1990s, he did most of them except
  for the 900
• 2003 X Games, he landed the 900 and won his tenth
  gold medal

• Tony married Cindy Dunbar in 1990
• Son Riley, was born in December 1992
• He got married to Erin, and they had Spencer, in

• Keegan, another son, was born in 2001

• Tony set up the Tony Hawk Foundation, part of
  its mission is to help pay for public skate
  parks throughout the country.

• 1999- landed the first 900, won the vert best
  trick contest at X Games
• 2002- Nailed the 900 at X Games outside of
  regulation
• 2003- Landed the 900 at X Games the 45-sencond
  time limit and the vert best trick contest
