  • He wrote 37 plays and 154 sonnets
  • Some of his most famous works include

  • He talked in a pattern called IAMBIC PENTAMETER
  • The pattern of one unstressed syllable followed
    by a stressed one
  • Example Good PILgrim, YOU do WRONG your HAND
    too MUCH
  • It is called IAMBIC PENTAMETER because there are
    5 (penta) meters
  • METERS are the set of stressed and unstressed
    syllables
  • Example Good PIL 1 meter

    were no Dictionaries
  • People couple spell however they wanted and
    sometimes made up new words
  • Over 2,000 of the words Shakespeare used had not
    been recorded.

    used today are
  • submerged, countless, lonely, and fretful
