    services officer.
  • There were interviews with Meridian TV, Solent
    TV, IOW Radio, Radio Solent, County Press and the
    local Beacon newspaper.

What were the outcomes?
  • The first ever joint on sales alcohol test
    purchases between the police and Trading
    Standards in Hampshire and the IOW.
  • 12 arrests were made for public order offences.
  • Trading Standards officers and the police did a
    series of test purchases for tobacco and off
    sales alcohol.
  • Connexions staff completed a prize survey of what
    young people in the area would like.

More Partnership Activity
  • Fire safety checks were carried out on various
    premises.
  • Community Punishment Offenders kept the streets
    tidy and repaired damage caused by vandalism.
  • 48 young persons employment checks undertaken
  • Noise limiting technology fitted to two premises
    in the CREW area.
  • Daily patrols by dog and community wardens.

  • Joint agency checks on pubs that had Public
    Entertainment Licences, taxis, SIA door staff
    and street traders.
  • Extra refuse collections were arranged.
  • Combined drugs initiative using Iontrac and a
    passive drug dog
  • Automatic Number Plate Recognition operation

How were the results of the CREW week fed back
to the community?
  • There were a number of write ups and reports in
    the local media.
  • An IOW Radio reporter conducted a fly on the
    wall style report.
  • The young persons survey was published.

    operations.
