History

• 1991 The Programme initiated and the first course
  starts the Baltic Sea Region.
• 1994 The BUP becomes a special unit at Uppsala
  University.
• 1995 The first course explicitly on sustainable
  development is published A Sustainable Baltic
  Region.
• 2006 Baltic University Rectors Conference.
• 2007 BUP merges with CEMUS and KUS and forms
  Uppsala Centre for Sustainable Development.
• 2007 Lars Rydén resigns as Director and Christine
  Jakobsson takes over.
