What is VBScripting

• Visual Basic Scripting is a subset of Microsofts
  Visual Basic programming language.
• VBScript processes code that is directly embedded
  into HTML.
• Should not be used as standalone, but instead to
  enhance your HTML file.

What is VBScript (cont.)

• VBScript is to Internet Explorer as JavaScript is
  to Netscape.
• Its a great alternative to JavaScript
• And I find it easier to learn.

What are the Disadvantages?

• Only supported by Internet Explorer
• Youll notice if you opened up http//aurora.wells
  .edu/ztaha/MESSEGE.htm in Netscape nothing would
  happen.
• It cant act alone. It needs to be in HTML to
  enhance the page.

What are the Advantages?

• I REPEAT, ITS EASY!!!!
• I understood VB Script better than I did
  JavaScript and they have the same capabilities.
• Depending on your preference for browsers. VB
  Script works with IE and you dont get the funny
  run time errors.

How Can We Use VBScript

• We can use VB Scripting as an easier way to
  enhance our web pages.
• It has the capability of JavaScript but in
  Internet Explorer.
• I will show this through an online component.

• They have the same capabilities and depending on
  your style as a web developer, you may or may not
  like it.
