The Policy Context
The Scottish University for Industry is at
the heart of the Scottish Executives vision for
lifelong learning and vital to a knowledge-driven
economy. It will be the hub of the learning
revolution which will enable Scotland to meet the
economic challenges of the 21st century. It must
change attitudes, creating a society where it's
'cool' to learn. I want every one to have access
to education and the benefits that it brings
through gaining new knowledge, skills and
qualifications. Enterprise and Lifelong
Learning Minister 1999
