22
NEPTUNE Stage I Route Survey Vancouver Island
Shelf
23
Conducted continental shelf geophysical work to
define route Completed surveys using an
Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) near the
Endeavour Ridge Obtained seabed information as
part of the cable burial assessment process
across the continental shelf and slope off
Vancouver Island Obtained Multibeam Echosounding
data across the abyssal plain between the
continental margin and the Endeavour
Ridge Further defined the science experiments to
be carried out in the vicinity of Barkley Canyon
and at the Endeavour Ridge
24
ABE/JASON Surveys
25
Next Steps
  • Carry out continental slope surveys in 2006
  • Design, develop and test instrumentation for
    scientific experiments
  • Design and construct cable and nodes
  • Develop Data Management and Archival System
    (DMAS)
  • Install network in 2007 with some instruments
  • Install remainder of instruments in 2008
