Title: 1st law: Law inertia
11st law Law inertia
- 3 laws that explains motion
2nd law Fma
3rd law Forces come in pairs

2Isaac Newton
- December 25th 1642, in Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire,
England. - Isaac wasnt raised by his parents
- Considered one of the most important scientists
of all time - Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica
3History of the Three Laws
- 384-322 B.C. Greek philosopher Aristotle
- Galileo (1564-1642 late 16th century early
17th century) - Newton (mid-17th century)
4First law
- Law of Inertia
- Inertia no force
- Net total/ net force may change the velocity of
the object. - velocity 0m/s
1.Imagine a place in the cosmos far from all
gravitational and frictional influences. Suppose
that you visit that place (just suppose) and
throw a rock. The rock will
52nd law
- F ma
- Force ?object ?velocity and direction
- Mass and acceleration is connected
Consider this It was said that the 2nd law of
Motion was the most powerful of Newtons three
laws, because it also contributes to calculations
of dynamics how do velocities change when forces
are applied.
2.It is easier to stop a car than stopping a
plane. Why? Explain it with what you know about
the 2nd law of Motion.

63rd law
3. While driving down the road, a firefly strikes
the windshield of a bus and makes a quite obvious
mess in front of the face of the driver. This is
a clear case of Newton's third law of motion. The
firefly hit the bus and the bus hits the firefly.
Which of the two forces is greater the force on
the firefly or the force on the bus?
- Forces come in pairs
- The harder you push on something, the harder it
push back on you
7Activity
- Turn your chair chairs in Mr.Olsons class
(push off the table to apply a force)
- Think about this next time you slam a table,
remember that you are not the only one that is
hurt
- Place a coin on a flat Not slanted table.
- Which Laws of Motion does each of these examples
show? - Use what you know about Laws of Motion to explain
how these examples works. - And answer all the questions asked on the laws
