Lyme Disease

• Lyme disease is the zoonosis disease that comes
  from the spirochetes bacteria in ticks.
• You can get lyme disease by being bitten by ticks.

• When you have lyme disease you will feel tired,
  achy, and have a bulls eye rash on the affected
  area.
• If you think you have lyme disease you should
  schedule an appointment with your doctor.
• To prevent lyme disease, you should cover up your
  body in the woods and check yourself for ticks
  after going outside.
• Tip Rubbing alcohol kills ticks.

Rabies

• Rabies is a zoonosis disease found in the saliva
  in mammals.
• You can get rabies by being bitten by animals
  usually wild.

• Rabies infects the nervous system and causes the
  brain to swell and can cause death.
• If you are bitten you should
• Wash bite with soap for 10 minutes
• Contact a hospital
• Describe animal to adults to be tested

Salmonellosis

• Salmonellosis is a zoonosis disease caused by
  bacteria in soil, water, and reptiles including
  snakes, lizards, and turtles.
• You can get it by touching animals diagnosed with
  salmonellosis.

Salmonellosis

• Salmonellosis will cause vomiting, nausea,
  stomach cramps, and diarrhea.
• To help prevent salmonellosis wash your hands
  after playing with your animals.
• If you think you have salmonellosis see a doctor
  about it.

Avian Flu

• Avian means related to birds which makes sense
  because this zoonosis disease is an influenza
  disease found in most birds.
• You can get the avian flu by handling birds.

Avian Flu

• The avian flu is similar to the regular flu but
  it is tougher and harder to get rid of.
• Symptoms of the avian flu are fever, cough, sore
  throat, and muscle aches.
• If you get the avian flu it is hard to treat.
  Some medications for this disease dont work.
  Some studies are still being done to help treat
  this flu.
• There is now a vaccine for avian flu but it
  doesnt fully prevent you from catching it.
