2Why change the company name?
SUBHEADER SUBHEADER SUBHEADER SUBHEADER SUBHEADER
- The name North European Gas Pipeline appeared
some years ago as a - working name of the project
- though it indicates the geographic location and
type of the pipeline, it is not - convenient for day-to-day use
- it is long
- it translates differently into Russian and German
- the same applies to the abbreviation NEGP
- Besides, in the press the project is called in
many different ways - from Northern Europe Gas Pipeline to Baltic
Pipeline and other variations in other languages,
which is not acceptable for our identity and is
sometimes simply confusing to everybody. - These linguistic discrepancies have motivated us
to look for a new easy and - memorable name.
3Why the name Nord Stream?
SUBHEADER SUBHEADER SUBHEADER SUBHEADER SUBHEADER
- It is a strong and metaphorical name reflecting
our projects objective - Transporting gas from Siberia to Northern Europe
and ensuring an uninterrupted gas stream to
European consumers - It is appropriate for the project identity and
convenient for day-to-day use

appropriate for a gas pipeline project - clearly refers to Northern Europe to which gas
will be supplied. - connected with the project ideology

into Russian and German, with the same number of
words - It can as well be used without translation as it
is quite understandable. - It is emotionally positive and metaphorical which
reflects the modern trend in naming important
pipelines (Nabucco, Green Stream, Interconnector)
- Stream triggers a chain of positive
associations linked to the projects ideology - - movement forward - dynamics - force - energy
5What does our logo mean?
- Our logo illustrates the name Nord Stream and
reflects our projects values - security, reliability, professionalism, dynamics,

international character and great scope
6What does our logo mean?
SUBHEADER SUBHEADER SUBHEADER SUBHEADER SUBHEADER
- Our objective was to create a memorable and
modern logo which will reflect key - features of our project
- The logo symbolizes a number of things
- It relates to natural gas sea the north (blue
colors) pipe in cross-section all the key
realities of the project - One of the most obvious visual associations for
this logo is a pipe, stretching from the - East to the West. It also gives a feeling of
something great, encompassing. - Rounded font which is stylistically linked with
the logo adds completeness and harmony
7Will re-branding raise our profile?
SUBHEADER SUBHEADER SUBHEADER SUBHEADER SUBHEADER
- We believe the new positive name will help to
clearly position the project as an important - infrastructure necessary to meet the growing
demand for gas in Europe, as well - as a safe and ecology-friendly gas pipeline
solution for the Baltic region - The pipeline necessity is becoming ever more
evident. Without it Europe will not be able - to secure enough gas supplies. Even critics come
to admit it - Our project has entered a new stage
- Shareholders final agreement signed, office
opened in Switzerland, the company staffed with
experienced specialists, we are finalizing
technical details and advancing in the
environmental approval process - This is a good moment to launch a new name. This
is a new level from which we will - take to project forward
