Title: Worlds Standard
1Worlds Standard
Mind your own business
Do your own thing
2Gods Standard
3Galatians 61-2 - Dear brothers and sisters, if
another Christian is overcome by some sin, you
who are godly should gently and humbly help that
person back onto the right path. And be careful
not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
Share each other's troubles and problems, and in
this way obey the law of Christ.
4Matthew 523-24 - "So if you are standing before
the altar in the Temple, offering a sacrifice to
God, and you suddenly remember that someone has
something against you, leave your sacrifice there
beside the altar. Go and be reconciled to that
person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to
God.
5Matthew 1815 - "If another believer sins against
you, go privately and point out the fault. If the
other person listens and confesses it, you have
won that person back.
6Constructive Confrontation When?
7Dishonoring to God
Romans 223-24 - You are so proud of knowing the
law, but you dishonor God by breaking it. No
wonder the Scriptures say, "The world blasphemes
the name of God because of you
8Damaging your relationship
Lev.1917 - "Do not nurse hatred in your heart
for any of your relatives. "Confront your
neighbors directly so you will not be held guilty
for their crimes.
9Hurting Others
Prov1017 - People who accept correction are on
the pathway to life, but those who ignore it will
lead others astray.
10Hurting the Offender
James 519-20 - My dear brothers and sisters, if
anyone among you wanders away from the truth and
is brought back again, you can be sure that the
one who brings that person back will save that
sinner from death and bring about the forgiveness
of many sins.
11Avoid
Being a Busy Body 2 Thess. 311 - Yet we hear
that some of you are living idle lives, refusing
to work and wasting time meddling in other
people's business
12Making Excuses
13Im not supposed to judge anyone. Matthew
71-5 - "Stop judging others, and you will not be
judged. For others will treat you as you treat
them. Whatever measure you use in judging others,
it will be used to measure how you are judged.
14And why worry about a speck in your friend's eye
when you have a log in your own? How can you
think of saying, Let me help you get rid of that
speck in your eye,' when you can't see past the
log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of
the log from your own eye then perhaps you will
see well enough to deal with the speck in your
friend's eye.
15Ill just grin and bear it. Matt 539 - But I
say, don't resist an evil person! If you are
slapped on the right cheek, turn the other, too.
16Who am I to tell someone else what to do?
17Its Gods job to show a person where they are
wrong.
182 Tim. 224-25 - The Lord's servants must not
quarrel but must be kind to everyone. They must
be able to teach effectively and be patient with
difficult people. They should gently teach those
who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change
those people's hearts, and they will believe the
truth.
19Eph 415 - Instead, we will hold to the truth in
love, becoming more and more in every way like
Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.
