Canadian Population

• French initially populate Acadia, but it will
  eventually become British
• Both the French and the British were able to
  establish significant populations in eastern
  Canada along the St. Lawrence River Great Lakes
  
• British defeat the French in the French Indian
  Wars (7 Years War) and take political control of
  the entire region
• 1791 Constitutional Act created
• Lower Canada (Quebec) French
• Upper Canada (Ontario) English
• 1867 the Dominion of Canada was created by the
  British North American Act
