State Animal White Tailed Deer
  • Usually 2.75-3.5 feet tall at the shoulder
  • Travel in groups of three or less
  • Live in forests and swamps
  • Fawns are born between April and July.

  • Breeds from North Carolina
  • In the winter they eat berries and fruits.
  • In the spring they eat worms, grubs and other

  • A fossilized coral from a coral reef that was
    found in the northern part of the Lower
    Peninsula.
  • Petoskey stones are often used for jewelry.
  • Adopted as the state stone in 1965
