Project History
  • SOMIT started in August 2000
  • Swiss Virtual Campus project
  • Need for sport management courses in Swiss
    universities, but no critical mass
  • IDHEAP (UNIL) VMI (UNIFR)
  • Network of 6 Swiss Sport Sciences institutes (NK)
  • 4 editions (2002-03, 03-04, 04-05, 05-06)
  • 399 students so far, 35 starting in March 06

The course
  • Fully autonomous online course
  • In French German
  • 4 sections each with pre-test and post-test
  • 45 chapters (themes) with content (text, picture,
    video, sound), useful links, tasks to do,
    commented bibliography, self quizzes
  • 180-360 hours of learning (6-12 ECTS)
  • Over one semester
