  • 2-step judging process

  • Preliminary assessment is undertaken at
    participating school.
  • Finalists from preliminary assessment go into
    final assessment round.
  • Final assessment is an open forum in neutral
    venue.

Preliminary Assessment
  • Participating team will be notified via the
    school principal of the date time of visit by
    3-man assessment judges.
  • Participating team may choose essay, written
    report, ppt, photograph, video, drawing and/or
    exhibit to showcase to Preliminary Assessment
    Judges.
  • Participating team has 30 min max to present and
    another 30 min max to showcase with exhibit, if
    any.
  • Judges will assess based on a set of evaluation
    criteria.

Final Assessment
  • The best 3-5 teams from each school category
    shall be selected to go into final open contest
  • Selection of finalist is purely based on best
    aggregate scores collected from all PATs.
  • Finalists must re-submit a final report and
    present their report to a panel of judges from
    the Advisory Committee in open forum
    presentation. Winners are picked based on their
    report presentation.

Final Assessment Judging Procedure
  • Three groups of finalists will give presentations
    to the Panel of Judges in an Open Forum session.
  • Each team will give 15 min presentation.
  • A Question and Answer session will follow each
    presentation.
  • Winners of the competition are selected.

  • Beside project report presentation format,
    other submission format
  • Project Exhibit
  • Essay
  • Video recording
  • Drawing
  • Best maintained mini-weather station (2007
    onward)
  • Grading for 1st, 2nd, 3rd position only if no. of
    such submission exceeds 15 for each (Pri, Sec
    JC) school category. Only merit prizes will be
    given if submission is less than 15.

  • Receipt of finalist reports Thu 11th May
  • Despatch of finalist reports assessment
    criteria to Advisory Committee members Fri 12th
    May
  • Finalist assessment Thu 18th May
  • No. of teams 5 Pri, 5 Sec, 3 JCs
  • Award presentation Fri 26th May

Recognition
  • Finally
  • Notification of the winners, the finalists the
    participating team/school.
  • All participating teams/schools will be invited
    to an Award Ceremony.
  • Every participating team member school will
    receive a certificate.
  • Finalists will receive memento and vouchers.
  • Winners will receive trophies, vouchers and
    overseas travel (for 1st place winner).

Potential Places
  • Winning teams will travel overseas to attend
    climate change or environmental related
    conferences/seminars/workshops where they will
    have the opportunity to showcase their projects.
  • Primary School Winners will travel to Asia or
    Australia
  • Secondary School Winners will travel to Europe
  • Junior College Winners will travel to U.S or
    Europe
