31Your Comments
- Action ABA to make hard copy of power point
available to community - Commercial spaces will include TK Noodle and two
retail spaces. - Consider appropriate wording for Home vs.
Detached unit. - Comment Money from units should go to this park
fund, not the general neighborhood park fund. - Commercial development does not generate park
funds. - Action Clarification needed on the possibility
of this projects park funds going to the
proposed park on 6th and William. - Concern The difference between general plan and
SNI plan - Action How many low-income units are planned?
- Concern Track record of the upkeep of Mr. Lus
existing owned houses on 6th Street. - Action The request was made to list parking
counts according to use. - A community member likes the varying plane along
E. William Street. - A community member likes the different style
awnings.
32Your Comments
- Suggestion Relocate historical structure to 6th
Street parcel. - Comment This proposal is suggesting the
demolition of four properties, which are over 50
years old. - Action What is the height of the buildings in
relation to neighboring buildings. - Concern There is a concern that the monthly rent
may be too low. - Suggestion There should be a generous setback on
E. William, which would allow activities such as
outdoor dining. - The comment was made that the flat roof at the
rounded corner looks too commercial. - A community member was interested in knowing the
new area vs. the area of the historical
buildings. - Most 6th Street homes do not have garages.
Suggestion to eliminate garage from 6th Street
elevation, and to park in rear. - 6th Street elevation fence at garage could look
nicer with landscaping and lighting.
33Your Comments
- Suggestion the project should have Victorian
elements. - The Craftsman house on 7th and William was
described as a very nice asset to the community. - Action The request was made to provide the
number of units per acre. - The single family home could be a separate
parcel. - A trash/recycle chute from the upper floors was
suggested. - One community member believes that the height
should be lowered by one story. - A proposal for a Reed Street pedestrian walk was
mentioned, it was suggested to consider this for
E. William Street also. - Comment there are not enough parks in
neighborhood. - Suggestion there should be a pharmacy or
Supermarket. Small stores are too expensive. - Other suggestions No alcohol or convenience
store (No alcohol that leaves the site), grocery
store, breakfast place (bacon and eggs). - Neighborhood is small scale. A comment was made
that the sidewalks dont necessarily have to be
widened.
34Your Comments
- Materials suggested Stone, wood, brick
- Stucco- Durability, easier to maintain. The
neighborhood wants it maintained. - One community member stated that stucco is not
desired. - There is an expressed desire for quality
construction, textures, and interesting
architecture. - Pedestrian corridor Lamp posts (like those at
Reed), park benches, drinking fountain,
sculpture/water feature. - Where would the dumpsters be located?
- This project is setting a precedent for future
development. - More green space is desired, more landscaping.
Trees, flowers, grass. - Comment The retail at 7th and William should fit
the historic image. - How does the project affect the historic district
status? - Comment No Spanish tile, no big blank walls.
- See Victorian hotels for reference, ornamental
features, design. - Small scale is attractive, friendly atmosphere.
35Your Comments
- Different types of materials create distinction.
- Comment Underground parking should have adequate
structural support. Might want to try calming
colors in parking spaces. - Comment Think about how to deal with the noise
that delivery trucks make in the morning. - Comment Have enough room in the bedrooms to
accommodate a dresser and two night stands. Make
the bedrooms comfortable in size.
