• Clear simple procedures for definition of call
  scope evaluation
• Target established research groups

2008-2009 II Pilot Action

• To fund full 12 month projects
• To test improved call and evaluation mechanisms
• To test the increased ambition level
• To prepare Era-Net, Inno-Net, or OMC-Net proposal
  if feasible
• Can be funded with the extension of the existing
  contract (must be negotiated with partners DG
  RTD)

2009-2013 Joint Program

• Flagship European innovation policy research
  program
• Small relevant - best in the world
• To fund 2-5 projects with existing capabilities
  for 12-24 months
• Attactive call size
• In-built policy learning mechanisms, e.g.
  networking workshops
• Possibility to apply Era-Net or OMC Net by March
  2008
