Young Boys

• At 7 years old boys were sent away to the castles
  or manors for knighthood training.
• Learned good manners. the role of the knight, and
  chivalry.
• Games would be played mimicking the role of a
  knight. Toys would include a wooden sword and
  shield.

• 10-14 years old pages was also expected to acts
  as servants to the ladies of the court or castle.
• The young page would receive an education being
  taught religion, manners, riding, hunting,
  hawking and strategic games such as backgammon
  and chess.

Medieval Squire

• 14-21 years old Squires learned about Chivalry,
  Heraldry, horsemanship and the use of weapons.
  social life of the castle
• courtly etiquette, jousting, music and dancing.
• The squire would care for the knight's horse,
  clean the stables, polish the knight's armor and
  maintain his weapons.
• The Squire served in this role for seven years.

  symbolized in the order of Knighthood ceremony.
  The culmination of the ceremony was when a knight
  was dubbed and the words "Arise, Sir Knight"

  when Mass (prayers)
• Ladies in waiting assisted with her dressing

• A Noblewomans duties included
• the education of the upper class girls.
• All affairs when her husband was absent
• Leisure time was spent on embroidery and dance
  practice
