5- Applications of GSIP Data
- Coral Reef Watch (CRW) combines insolation (PAR)
from GSIP-fd with operational thermal stress
products in an algorithm based on bleaching
physiology. - NCEP validates NWP Model predicted fields of
cloud properties, radiation fluxes and land
surface skin temperature with GSIP-fd. - Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute (WHOI) uses
radiation data in estimating heat flux components
over the coastal ocean to drive ocean circulation
models and the PAR data to drive coupled ocean
biophysical models. - Board Decision
- System is operational with improvements
added (2-3 month). - Data Access
- Real-time data now available on
experimental processing site at - ftp//ftp.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/pub
