- AIMS
- To report female sexual problems and concerns,
as - presented by women calling a help-line .
- To evaluate womens help seeking behaviour
regarding - sexual matters.
2- METHOD
- All telephone calls from women to the help-line
during a five-year period (1999 2004). - Specifically designed database caller-sheet
comprising - a) Demographic characteristics (e.g. age,
occupation - marital status etc.)
- b) The sexual problem reported (onset,
course etc.) - c) Coexisting physical mental health
problems - d) Previous doctor contacts
- e) Other factors such as quality of the
couples relationship, - life style habits etc.

- Womens reports are not limited to their own
sexual - concerns, but also include their partners and
childrens - sexual problems.
- Most frequently reported sexual problems are
difficulties - in reaching orgasm and reduced sexual desire.
- Age and relational status are associated with
the - experience of sexual difficulties.
- Women are reluctant to seek medical advice on
their - sexual concerns.
