BASIC GEOMETRIC IDEAS

• Point
• Marks an exact location in space
• Line
• A collection of points along a straight path
  extending endlessly in both directions
• Line Segment
• Part of a line between two endpoints
• Ray
• Part of a line that has one endpoint and extends
  endlessly in one direction
• Angle
• Formed by two rays with a common endpoint called
  a vertex
• Plane
• A flat surface extending endlessly in all
  directions

• Right Angle
• Measures exactly 90o
• Obtuse Angle
• Measures greater than 90o but less than 180o
• Acute Angle
• Measures less than 90o but greater than 0o
• Straight Angle
• Measure exactly 180o
