like being a certain size and refuse to grow
larger - Internal Factors
- This is what the LEADERSHOP system is all about
getting each of the internal factors functioning
so that God can bless the church
5Symptoms of leadership barrier
- People wont take responsibility for the church
- No sense of direction
- Consistent lack of funds
- Hiring staff people for the wrong reasons
- Little new or innovative programming
- Tolerance of sin because of talent
- Pastor is excited the people are not
- Using power rather than influence people skills
- Problem solving instead of leadership development
6The church rises falls on LEADERSHIP
- Howard Hendricks said, Leadership is the ability
to know where you are going and the ability to
convince others to go along with you. - John Maxwell says, Leadership is influence.
7The church cannot grow beyond the size of the
leaders!!!
8Godly leadership demands and Eph. 4 ministry!
- Teaching and training people to do the ministry
themselves - Ephes. 411-12 And he gave some, apostles and
some, prophets and some, evangelists and some,
pastors and teachers 12 For the perfecting of
the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the
edifying of the body of Christ - We can no longer settle for the people being
totally dependent upon the pastor or pastors
9Every time something good is happening in any
ministry it is because of a leader
- It doesnt matter so much the program as it does
the leader - We can grow and develop as leaders

leadership that must be solved

- Developing your current leaders
- Find and develop future leaders
- Develop the separate leadership strands of a
growing ministry - Ministries get stuck when one or more of these 4
areas is not addressed

leadership development and ministry equipping - We can not just go on doing ministry ourselves
(usually at burnout pace) - Eph 411,12 a lay person is someone who does
ministry a pastor-teacher equips them to do it
