General Officer Duties
  • Attend monthly officer meetings
  • Attend monthly general meetings
  • 1 community service event per quarter
  • 1 other event per quarter
  • Assist other officers as needed

Co-President (6-8 hours/week)
  • Organize, plan and lead to ensure the
    perpetuation and overall success of the chapter
  • Plan regular officer and general meetings
  • Prepare agendas and delegate responsibilities as
    necessary
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of the
    Induction Ceremony

Co-President
  • Ensure that the chapter meets chapter standards
    and achieves the chapters targeted performance
    level
  • Make sure all other officers complete the
    delegated tasks needed to achieve gold status
  • Work with the chapter advisor to plan a calendar
    of activities for the upcoming year
  • Communicate with GK headquarters

Vice President (4-5 hours/week)
  • Assist the president in the completion of duties
    as needed
  • Play a key role in the planning and execution of
    the annual membership drive and Sophomore
    Recognition Ceremony
  • Keep track of and update member points in a
    timely manner

Treasurer (5 hours/week)
  • Manage all financial transactions of the chapter
    with guidance from the chapter advisor
  • Work with the president and advisor to prepare an
    accurate budget for the chapter within one month
    of the new academic year
  • Submit financial report needed to fulfill chapter
    standards

Fundraising Director (2 hours/week)
  • Plan at least 1 fundraising event per quarter
  • Investigate sources of local funding and
    coordinate activities
  • Recruit fundraising volunteers from chapter
    members and/or officers

Secretary (2 hours/week)
  • Record and prepare the meeting minutes of each
    officer meeting to distribute to officers and
    advisor
  • Record and prepare meeting minutes of each
    general meeting to post on the chapter website
  • Prepare and deliver any necessary letters, forms,
    etc.

Tutoring Liaison (2 hours/week)
  • Investigate volunteer programs that represent a
    long term education-focused commitment
  • Plan and coordinate at least 2 continuous
    tutoring opportunities throughout the year
  • Recruit members to volunteer as tutors
  • Go to the schools each week to collect the
    volunteer sign-in sheets for points

Community Service Director (3-4 hours/week)
  • Investigate member interest in community service
    opportunities
  • Network and partner with other student
    organizations on programs and activities
  • Plan and coordinate at least 2 service activities
    per quarter (our chapter likes to have more)
  • Recruit volunteers for the service activities

Social Director (2 hours/week)
  • Plan and coordinate at least one social activity
    per quarter
  • Advertise social events and encourage members to
    attend

Publicity Director (2 hours/week)
  • Coordinate all publicity for chapter activities
    and events
  • Place ads and announcements in local media
  • Write and submit press releases for important
    chapter activities
  • Explore creative methods of advertising for
    chapter membership drive

Honorary Member Liaison (2 hours/week)
  • Prepare and send chapter updates to honorary
    members throughout the year
  • Send honorary member invitations to the induction
    ceremony and other events
  • Plan 1 honorary member dinner or other contact
    event per quarter

Webmaster (4-6 hours/week)
  • Update and maintain local GK web page- update
    points, upcoming events, officer information,
    etc.
  • Make sure the web page is linked to the Golden
    Key site- www.goldenkey.org
  • Manage and update the chapters list serves

Newsletter Editor (2-3 hours/week)
  • Create and edit chapter newsletter at least once
    per quarter
  • Write and/or solicit articles for the newsletter
  • Ensure the distribution of newsletter to members,
    advisor, honorary members and GK staff

Historian (2 hours/week)
  • Oversee the completion of activity reports and
    semi-annual reports
  • Obtain and organize important chapter documents
    and organize for the chapters future reference
  • Take pictures to include on the chapter website,
    future publicity materials, and the chapter
    yearbook
