2
2 Samuel 12
3
Did David get away with it?
  • NO!
  • God noticed.

4
  • But the thing David had done displeased the
    Lord. 2 Samuel 1127b

5
  • Do not be deceived. God is not mocked. For
whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
    Galatians 67

6
Did David get away with it?
  • NO!
  • God noticed.
  • God is always present.

7
There will be a moment of truth.
  • God not only does the right thing He does the
right thing at the right time.
  • God sent the right person.

8
Was it worth it?
  • NO!

9
  • When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted
away through my groaning all day long. For day
and night Your hand was heavy upon me My
vitality was drained away as with the fever heat
    of summer. Psalm 323-4

10
Sin is like an abscess.
  • Sin makes you sick.
  • Its painful.
  • The pain can be treated, but the infection is
    still present.
  • When the abscess is opened, its drained, and
    improvement begins.
  • But it stinks.
  • It gives relief when drained.
  • It scars.

11
Was it worth it?
  • NO!
  • Davids scars were the death of his son and
living with the knowledge of his sin.
  • Sin always bears consequences!

12
God forgives, thank goodness.
  • As bad as his sins sound, David was forgiven.

13
  • Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity
  • And cleanse me from my sin.
  • For I know my transgressions,
  • And my sin is ever before me.
  • Psalm 512-3

14
  • Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose
sin the LORD does not count against him and in
whose spirit is no deceit. Psalm 321-2

15
Confrontation 101

  • Timing is important.
  • Be sure that you are sent by God.
  • Be sure that you are the right person.
  • Your technique should be well thought out.
  • You should be nervous.
  • Remember you are a sinner too.

16
Confrontation 101
  • When you are being confronted
  • No excuses
  • No complaints
  • No what-about-yous
