Why Asynchronous NoC?

• Large SoCs are GALS systems
• Multiple clock domains
• Dynamic voltage / frequency scaling
• NoC connects unrelated clock domains
• No point to synchronize along the way
• Only synchronize at destination
• Asynchronous does it best !
