informal outdoor recreation, relaxation, wildlife
and nature conservation in a safe, clean, green,
healthy, pleasant and tranquil environment.
VISION
11We want Lofthouse Colliery Park to be a place
which, in its entirety
- Is a Park for the local community
- Meets local peoples informal recreational needs
for exercise and relaxation without compromise to
wildlife and nature - Offers the opportunity for peace and tranquility
to promote health and well being - Provides diverse habitats for the benefit of
wildlife - Is managed in a way that is sustainable and is
environmentally and historically sensitive for
the benefit of present and future generations - Allows educational opportunities for local
children - Promotes the benefits of natural surroundings
and resists the adverse effect of increasing
traffic and urban development - Respects the presence of residents living on the
boundaries and the surrounding area
