Audacity
  • Free audio editor and recorder
  • Create WAV or AIFF files suitable for burning to
    CD
  • Create MP3 files, a universal compressed audio
    format that will play on iPods and other portable
    devices

  • download the current version of Audacity 1.2.6
    for Windows or Mac OS X

  • You also need to download LAME encoder library to
    create MP3 files.

    Layouts, Text and Content Layouts, or Other
    Layouts) - Double click the icon - Click
    Import button - Choose a file you have in your
    computer - Click Add button - Select the
    file you just added to the Media Clip and click
    OK button

  • If you want to add sound/movie files to other
    layouts (e.g. Blank layout), after selecting the
    layout, take the following steps Insert -
    Movies and Sounds - Movie from File (or Sound
    from File) - Choose a file you have in your
    computer

  • Not all video file types are supported by both
    PC and Mac versions of PowerPoint. For example,
    video files created with Quick Time (.mov) cant
    be inserted into the PC version of PowerPoint.
    In such a case, you need to use a video converter
    such as Kates Video Converter 1.8 (freeware)
