Location, Estimate of sales Products sold

• Location Downtown Pittsburgh.
• Convenient Location for people who work downtown
  and need to grab something to eat quick.
• Products Needed for the business pizza dough,
  pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni,
  mushrooms, anchovies, pineapple, ham, peppers,
  sausage, onions, black olives, chicken, hoagie
  buns, lettuce, various types of meats and
  cheeses.
• Estimate of Sales Business would probably start
  slow, but through word of mouth, sales should
  increase.

People Important to the Business

• Manager/Head Chef (3) Oversee all the main
  operations of the business. Make sure that
  inventory is done, handles customer complaints if
  there are any, and oversee all activity in the
  kitchen is done correctly.
• Assistant Chef/Order Operations (7-8, more as
  business grows) Assist the manager in the
  kitchen. Also handles all online and telephone
  operations of the business, making sure all
  orders are filled and sent to the right location.
• Maintenance and Delivery (3-4) Makes sure
  everything in the restaurant is clean. Also
  handles all deliveries to locations outside of
  the restaurant.

System Components Input devices

• System Components include
• BIOS (basic input output system).
• Motherboard (which is the main circuit board of a
  system unit)
• Processors (an electronic component that
  interprets and carries out the basic instructions
  that operate a computer.
• Power Supply Units (convert outlet AC power to
  the DC power)

• Sources of input that my company would use is the
  keyboard, mouse, a digital camera (to take
  pictures to put on the company website), and a
  bar code reader (to ring up any items that are
  for sale.

Output devices and storage

• Different output sources my company would use
  include a printer (this way I can print out
  flyers advertising a business), and a monitor (so
  customers can watch tv if they choose to dine
  in).

• Different types of storage my computer would use
  include the USB flashdrive, hard drive(because
  they use storage and information CDs and DVDs
  because they store backups, movies and music.

• My business would have a network for the purpose
  that it would facilitate communications, share
  hardware, share data, information, and share
  software. Different types include
• LAN(which connects users in a local geographic
  area)
• WAN (A network that covers a large geographical
  area)
• MAN(which connects computer devices of a
  geographic area).

Software Word Processing Spreadsheets

• Word processing

• Spreadsheets

• For the Word Processing Software, my business
  would use Microsoft Word 2007, because thats
  what I have become most familiar with. Having
  good word processing software is important
  because it can make any document look however you
  desire, whether you want it to be color,
  professional, or creative.

• For the spreadsheet software, I would use
  Microsoft Excel 2007. This would work out great
  for my company because I am very familiar with
  the Microsoft Excel program, being that I
  remember a lot from my course in college. This
  will also work great because it is a convenient
  way to show sales and projected sales through
  formulas and charts.

Software Database and presentation

• Database

• Presentation

• For the database software, I would use Microsoft
  Access 2007. This will be very helpful to the
  operations of my business, because it is a great
  way to store information in an electronic format
  on a storage medium such as a hard disk.

• My business would use Microsoft Power Point 2007
  for the presentation. The purpose of this program
  is to create visual aids for presentations to
  communicate ideas, messages, and other
  information to the group.

Graphic arts, web design, and communication

• Graphic/Arts For this aspect, I could either use
  Microsoft Word or Microsoft Power Point. Both of
  these programs use Clip Art (which is a
  collection of drawings and photographs. You could
  also save and upload pictures you find.
• Web Design My companys website is going to be
  an important factor, because it provides people
  with more information about my business. It
  discusses things such as the menu, location
  (address) and the hours of operation for my
  company. There are several free downloads you can
  use for web design. I think one of the best is
  coffeecup.com
• Communication Communication is a key to both
  workers and customers. Different forms of
  communication my business uses includes e-mail,
  online message boards (to hopefully help attract
  customers).

Data Employees Customers

• All of the employees will have to use a
  fingerprint scanner. At my job, we use computers
  to put our requests in and the computer writes
  the schedule and I think this is a good idea
  because the computer randomly generates the
  schedule, so everyone is treated fair.
• The target customers will be the workers of
  downtown Pittsburgh who need a cheap and
  convenient place to eat, but all people are
  welcome to dine in the sandwich and pizza shop.
  Customers have the convenience of ordering online
  or on the phone if they need a special order
  made. If they do not need a special order, they
  can get their food within 5 minutes, or they get
  it free.

Data Products Equipment

• My sandwich and pizza shop will offer a variety
  of food products, such as pizza, white pizza,
  garlic bread, bread sticks, cheese sticks,
  Italian hoagies, chicken subs, turkey subs, steak
  hoagies, calzones, and different types of pastas.
  There will be a wide variety of drinks offered
  including all Pepsi products, water, and several
  types of beers and mixed drinks. There will also
  be kids drinks including Milk, Orange Juice, and
  Chocolate Milk.
• There will be many different types of equipment
  in our eatery. They include ovens (to obviously
  cook the food), microwaves (another source of
  heating food), and refrigerators (to keep the
  stored food cold), dishwashing machines (to help
  maintenance people), dishes, cups, and skillets.

Normal Operating Procedures Back-up Procedures

• Normal operating procedures should run fairly
  smoothly. As soon as an online order is placed,
  one of the order operations attendants will fill
  the order. Hours of operation for my shop will be
  10am till 8pm. Besides the cash register, I would
  have a computer that stores all company data.
  
• There are many different forms of backup someone
  can use. I plan on using two for my company, in
  case I would lose one of the two forms of backup.
  .One of the best forms of storage is the hard
  disk. A lot of businesses or people use hard
  disks to save information. Another important tool
  for backup is the USB flash drive. USB flash
  drives are helpful because they can be place on a
  key ring, so u cant lose them easily.

What happens if there is a failure?

• If there is a failure in my companys computer
  system, it wouldnt be horrible, because my
  company would have all of its information on back
  up. I would make sure to continually save all of
  the information I enter into the computer. I
  could access the information from a home
  computer. But if we needed all of the data right
  back up on the screen, we could use an Automated
  System Recovery tool that would boot the
  Microsoft programs back up.

Conclusion

• In conclusion, I think my company has all of the
  essentials to survive and be profitable. I think
  the company is designed for success. As far as
  the computer programs, my company will have all
  of the fundamentals needed to be successful.
