the universe, nor great theological debate.They
simply could not help speaking about what they
had seen and heard.Their encounter with the
risen Christ led to their engagement with the
world. Their boldness derived not from
themselves but from the name and person of Christ

• How did you do that? It is by the name of
  JesusCrucified...but raised from the dead that
  this man is healed, but He is also the only
  person in whom we can find spiritual salvation
  and can be saved v 10-12
• A unique message of life beyond death

• A good news message of SalvationThe
  universal blood donor. one mans blood giving
  life to all
• A grace message for a major predicamentGod
  himself, gave himself, to save us from himself

A Personal encounter!

• Who are these people? When they saw the
  courage of Peter and John and realised that they
  were unschooled and ordinary men they were
  astonished and they took note... that these men
  had been with Jesus v13
• Their encounter had an impactTheir proximity
  had made the difference

A Personal encounter!

• How might we truly meet with Jesus? I keep
  asking that the God, of our Lord Jesus Christ,
  may give you the Spirit of wisdom and
  revelation so that you may know him better

• Professional Christianity or Personal Encounter?
  
• We are to be open, vulnerable, honest and subject
  to his Lordship( It can be a battle of
  wills!)We get no deeper into Christ than we
  allow him to get into us John Henry Jowett

• Are we coming together .but there is no real
  meeting?
• A helpful discipline based on the Lords
  PrayerRemind us of who you are.Govern us in
  all aspects of our livesGive us what we need to
  be the best for youLead us in your ways and
  pull us back from the edge of evil

• How do we shut these guys up?Peter and John
  replied Judge for yourselves whether it is
  right in Gods sight to obey you rather God. For
  we cannot help speaking about what we have seen
  and heard v 20
• Their testimony was fresh, first hand and
  contagious
• Their testimony was unpolished but unpreventable!

• Let us be clear and confident in our message...
  Or let us check it out for the first time
• Let us meet with Jesus, put him first, put him at
  the centre and make ourselves vulnerable to His
  impact on our lives
• Let us ask God for a fresh, first hand touch upon
  our lives to re-discover that passionate, first
  love that overflows!
