Things You Need

• Your email address
• Your password
• Suddenlinks incoming mail server
  (pop.suddenlink.net)
• Suddenlinks outgoing mail server
  (smtp.suddenlink.net)
• Authentication type - Password

Now, lets get started .

This is the set-up wizard that you see the first
time you start the program.

Type your name, email address, and password.
Then, click Continue.

Select POP for Account Type.

This example is called Home for home email.

Type pop.suddenlink.net for the Incoming Mail
Server.

Type your email address and password, then click
Continue.

Mail checks the connection to the Suddenlink
server. This takes a moment. If there is an
error, you will see what needs to be corrected.
When the process is done, the Continue button
will appear. Click that button to continue.

Leave Description empty. Type
smtp.suddenlink.net for Outgoing Mail Server,
and make sure Use only this server is checked.

Check Use Authentication.

Type your email address and password.

Click Continue.

Mail checks the connection to the Suddenlink
server. This takes a moment. If there is an
error, you will see what needs to be corrected.
When the process is done, the Continue button
will appear. Click that button to continue.

Leave Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) unchecked.

Authentication method is Password.

Heres a view of the Inbox folder. Lets finish
setup.

Click the Mail menu and select Preferences....

Home account.

Click the drop-down and select Edit Server List.

This is the server list Mail will use. Dont make
any changes to this screen.

No changes should be needed, but be sure that the
Server port number is 25.

Authentication is Password, and your email
address and password are already entered.
