What Really Is Humidity?
Humidity - The amount of water vapor in the air.
This has nothing to do with rain drops or fog or
any other form of liquid or solid water in the
atmosphere, it is the air space between the rain
drops and how much vapor that exists there that
determines the humidity.
4
How it forms?
Humidity is formed through condensation. It
refers to the amount of water vapour in the air.
The moisture forms water drops that create the
humidity.
5
What Time of the Year does it occur?
  • Humidity usually occurs more in the summer time
than in the winter. The warmer the air the more
moisture it can hold. In conclusion the warmer
the air the more vapour it can hold.

6
In which area of the world is it most common?
Where is it most likely to occur?
  • Humidity is most likely to occur in places near
oceans and the equator, than near the north or
south poles because the sun has a more direct hit
on the equator making it warmer. The warmer the
air the more water vapour it can hold.

equator, most likely to occur
7
Have there been any such events in our area?
  • Yes... Humidity happens every single day in
Windsor, Ontario. It happens alot here because of
the Great Lakes. The heat and moisture cause the
    humidity.

8
Any Recent Examples or
Occurances?
A recent example of humidity is in our every day
lives, humidity occurs all the time. You may not
realize it in the winter but its still there.
You realize it alot more in the summer time or
in places where the climate is alot hotter than
here in windsor.
9
The Potential for Destruction
  • Humidity does not have a great potential for
    destruction.
  • The following are dangerous effects of to much
    humidity.

dont let the heat get the best of you
  • Nausea
  • Heat EXhaustion
  • Dehydration
  • Heat Stroke

10
The frequency of its occurrence- How often does
it take place?
  • Humidity occurs often during the summer months
because the temperatures of heat are higher.
Humidity is found usually near lakes, oceans,
rivers and swamps because of the simple fact that
    there is more moisture.

11
Factors of weather that interact to produce such
an event.
Factors of weather that interact to produce such
an event are - Rain, Condensation and
temperature. - Rain and condensation together
makes water vapour which causes the air to be
more humid. - Temperature makes the air warmer
which lets more moisture to be consumed.
12
Dew Point
-The dew point is the temperature at which the
air will be holding all the moisture it can if
cooled. Or...another way of putting it. -The dew
point is the temperature at which the relative
humidity reaches 100.

InTereStIng FaCtS AboUt HuMidIty!
Humidity is the amount of moisture or water
vapour in the air
You, your family, and your pets produce moisture
when you breathe or perspire.
We add water vapour to indoor air through routine
household activities cooking,showering, bathing,
doing laundry, and dishwashing.
And more moisture can enter your home from the
surrounding soil through a basement or crawlspace
