Luke 646-49 NAS
  • And why do you call Me, Lord, Lord, and do not
do what I say? Everyone who comes to Me, and
hears My words, and acts upon them, I will show
you whom he is like he is like a man building a
house, who dug deep and laid a foundation upon
the rock and when a flood rose, the torrent
burst against that house and could not shake it,
because it had been well built.

3
Luke 646-49 NAS
  • But the one who has heard, and has not acted
accordingly, is like a man who built a house upon
the ground without any foundation and the
torrent burst against it and immediately it
collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.

Give
  • Truths to Build On

5
Luke 638 NAS
  • Give, and it will be given to you good measure,
pressed down, shaken together, running over, they
will pour into your lap. For by your standard of
measure it will be measured to you in return.

6
Jesus gave completely.
  • For I have come down from heaven, not to do My
own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. (John
    638 NAS)
  •

7
Jesus gave sacrificially.
  • They took Jesus therefore, and He went out,
bearing His own cross, to the place called the
Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew,
    Golgotha. (John 1917 NAS)

8
Jesus gave sacrificially.
  • And He sat down opposite the treasury, and began
observing how the multitude were putting money
into the treasury and many rich people were
putting in large sums. And a poor widow came and
put in two small copper coins, which amount to a
cent. And calling His disciples to Him, He said
to them, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put
in more than all the contributors to the
treasury for they all put in out of their
surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all
she owned, all she had to live on." (Mark
    1241-44 NAS)

9
Jesus gave to friend and foe alike.
  • and He died for all, that they who live should
no longer live for themselves, but for Him who
died and rose again on their behalf. (2
    Corinthians 515 NAS)

10
Jesus gave to make a difference.
  • So then as through one transgression there
resulted condemnation to all men, even so through
one act of righteousness there resulted
justification of life to all men. (Romans 518
    NAS)
  •
  • And his master praised the unrighteous steward
because he had acted shrewdly for the sons of
this age are more shrewd in relation to their own
kind than the sons of light. (Luke 168 NAS)

11
As we give, we receive.
  • Give, and it will be given to you good measure,
pressed down, shaken together, running over, they
will pour into your lap. For by your standard of
measure it will be measured to you in return.
    (Luke 638 NAS)

12
2 Corinthians 96-11, NAS
  • Now this I say, he who sows sparingly shall also
reap sparingly and he who sows bountifully shall
also reap bountifully. Let each one do just as he
has purposed in his heart not grudgingly or
under compulsion for God loves a cheerful giver.
And God is able to make all grace abound to you,
that always having all sufficiency in everything,
you may have an abundance for every good deed

13
2 Corinthians 96-11, NAS
  • as it is written, "He scattered abroad, He gave
to the poor, His righteousness abides forever."
Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread
for food, will supply and multiply your seed for
sowing and increase the harvest of your
righteousness you will be enriched in everything
for all liberality, which through us is producing
    thanksgiving to God.
