Eleftherios Venizelos
  • Eleftherios was born on 1864 in Crete.He
    went to the university of Athens for college and
    studied law.Once he was out of school he helped
    draft the constitution for Greece and became a
    member of the government by Prince George. After
    Eleftherios moved from Crete to Athens, he became
    Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Party.
    As the leader, he formed many alliances with
    Greeces northern bordering states so they would
    not form a war. In1916, Eleftherios established a
    rival provisional government in Thessaloniki.
    This would influence politics for decades. In
    1935, Eleftherios was forced to leave and live in
    France. Eleftherios died a year later of old age.
