OSHA Regulations

• Hand signals must be used
• Competent person must annually inspect hoisting
  machinery
• Accessible areas within swing radius must be
  barricaded
• Should not be used around power or transmission
  lines whenever possible

Other Safety Procedures

• Wire rope should be inspected regularly
• Fire extinguisher should be located in cab
• Atleast 10 of clearance from power lines
• Spotters should be used to observe clearances
• Keep employees clear
• Discontinue work during bad weather
• No riding on hoists unless its for inspection or
  maintenance
