Staff Mgt. Boards
  • In 2007 a total of 348 members served on LSP

sectors are keenly involved and represented.

Working Partners.
  • Working partners are those organisations and
agencies (and personnel from them) with whom the
    LSP has established ongoing relationships
  • In the report the highest values are assigned to
Primary schools, Irish Sports Council, Local
    Authorities, HSE Registered Sporting Org.
  • Other interesting examples are the Youth Service
sector, Area Based Partnerships and Pobal

7
Working Methods
  • The three most significant working methods in
    2007
  • The Delivery of projects and programmes.
  • Provision of sports training and education
    opportunities
  • Thirdly the provision of information to the local
    community.

8
Who do LSPs work with?
  • The pattern of work detailed in the report
displays a wide range of target groups. In 2007
the LSPs had most contact with
  • People living in disadvantaged communities
  • Children of school-going age
  • Other Sporting Organisations (Minority Sports)

9
Some significant outputs from 2007
  • Over 10,000 participants completed locally
planned and delivered courses, incl. ISC national
programmes, eg. Code, Active Leadership etc..
  • Worked with 2,987 groups in the area of funding,
    through information workshops, etc
  • Involved in the establishment or delivery of some
323 projects and 89 linked initiatives, in the
majority of which LSPs played a lead role. Some
55,000 people participated in these projects.

10
Challenges for the LSP Network
  • The increased demand on the LSPs to deliver more
    programmes and support more groups.
  • More generic Sports Development Officers
  • Resources required to access hard to reach target
groups and capacity building within these groups

11
In conclusion
  • Local Sports Partnerships have, in a short time
established themselves as a valuable resource and
    partner in the local community.
  • The significance of the LSP network spreads far
beyond sport and into areas of health, education
    community
  • We have built a strong, effective and committed
    network
