22Permit Customer Feedback
- The Quality Management System that covers many of
our permit functions is currently certified under
ISO 9001 standards - Our own desire to know how were doing, along
with ISO requirements drives us to obtain
customer feedback through a variety of mechanisms
(e.g., phone surveys, web surveys, surveys within
ePermits)
23Customer Feedback
- However, conducting surveys of this type is
considered an information collection by OMB - Clearance is needed before surveys can be
conducted - On March 9, 2007, we published in the Federal
Register - Notice of Request for Approval of an
Information Collection Plant Protection and
Quarantine Customer Satisfaction Surveys

26- The new Soil Permit feature will enable
applicants and PPQ field staff to enter
applications for Soil Permits on-line in
ePermits. PPQ Permit Services will be
coordinating with PPQ field staff to perform data
entry at the field level and provide
eAuthentication services for applicants to enable
them to apply on-line. The Soil Permit feature
also includes on-line SPHD and SPRO review
access.
27- The new Postentry Permit feature has resulted in
a change in the Postentry Permit application
process whereby the applications are received and
screened by a Regulatory Permit Specialist in
Riverdale to perform a compliance review. The
Postentry Permit feature also includes on-line
SPRO review access and SPHD review access is
planned.
28- SPHDs and SPROs now have on-line review access
for Plant Pest and Departmental Permits. SPHD
and SPRO reviewers will receive email
notifications when draft permits are in their
respective ePermit inboxes awaiting review.
29- The PPQ Field and CBP Search feature will provide
read access for all PPQ permits, letters of
denial, and letters of no jurisdiction that have
so far been issued in ePermits. The search
feature enables PPQ field personnel and CBP Port
Officers to search by Permit number, name of
permit holder, and name of organization.
Refinements to the search feature are planned.
