HSC, HUD, and participating agencies. Identify

Countys Continuum of Care partnerships.

8Lane County HMIS Committee
- An HMIS Committee will assist in the successful
implementation and ongoing operation of Lane
Countys HMIS. The committee will address issues
of user training, client confidentiality,
information release and accuracy of data entry.
All members of the committee are users of the
system.

- Administer the project in conjunction with Oregon
Housing and Community Services (OHSC) - Provide training and technical support
- Assist agencies with computers
10 The OHSC will
- Administer the project at the statewide level
- Host the database
- Maintain the servers
- Follow disaster recovery procedures

- Attend trainings and have access to phone,
e-mail, and one-on-one technical support - Connect to the HMIS through the Internet
- Track clients and services in HMIS through a
secured network environment - Create reports based on agency needs
12 Agency Readiness Plan
- Each participating agency will receive an
individualized readiness plan addressing - Can existing computer equipment access the HMIS
database? - Is existing connectivity sufficient?
- What training does the staff need to use a
database, the Internet, and the computer? - Is the agencys infrastructure ready to implement
a new HMIS system? - How can the agencys current client tracking
system be incorporated into the new system?

17- Q Does HMIS install any software on my computer?
- A No. HMIS is a Web-based application that
doesn't install anything on your computer. All
the software is run from a remote server.
18- Q Is my computer hardware sufficient to run HMIS?
- A If your computer is less than 3- 4 years old,
and you have a high-speed Internet connection,
you should have no trouble running HMIS on your
equipment. If you still experience difficulties
connecting to HMIS, please contact us.
19- Q I need a newer computer to run HMIS. What
should I do?
- A Contact Lane County HSC with your request, and
we will get back to you as soon with a decision
as soon as possible.
20- Q My computer is acting strangely. What should I
do?
- A Call the manufacturer of your computer
directly to report the problem.
21- Q Where can I get a user name and password for
HMIS?
A The Lane County HMIS Administrator can provide
you with a new user name and password, or change
the user name and password that you have now.
22- Q I forgot my user name or password. What should
I do? - A The Lane County HMIS Administrator can provide
that information to you.
23- Q Should I share my user name and password?
- A NO! Don't share your user name and password.
If you share that information, you are liable for
any damage done to HMIS while you are logged in
under your account information. In addition, it
directly violates the ServicePoint User License
Agreement and your Agency's HMIS Agency
Participation Agreement. This could result in
termination of services to your Agency via HMIS,
and consequently lose funding for your shelter.
