Site visits

• Second annual site visit will be 12 months after
  first one.
• CMU, Minnesota, Princeton Fall, 2007
• Berkeley, Rutgers Jan/Feb 2008
• Third annual site visit will be 32-33 months from
  date of award
• Feb/March 2009
• Renewal Proposal due
• Fourth annual site visit will be in the fall,
  2009
• Reduced site visit, some options include
  smaller team, NSF only, focused on one area,
• Fifth annual site visit and so forth every fall

Reporting Year and Award Year

• Award Year 12 month period beginning on the date
  of award to the Center. Fiscal data is tied to
  the Award Year.
• Current Award Year Budgeted numbers
• Prior Award Year Actual numbers
• Proposed Award Year Budgeted numbers
• Reporting Year Tied to data collection cut-off
  date for ERCWeb
• Every previous Center is different-- based on
  site visit date
• Class of 2006, all Reporting Years will end
  August 15th.
• Ensures data for first year of operation into
  ERCWeb in time for ERC program summaries

Annual Report

• Class of 2006 did not have to submit an Annual
  Report for Year 1.
• Year 2 Annual Report is due to NSF 5 weeks before
  2nd site visit date.
• Year 2 Annual Report contains ERCWeb financial
  tables based on
• Current Award Year (Year 2) budget
• Prior Award Year (Year 1) actuals
• Proposed Award Year (Year 3) budget
• Year 2 Annual Report contains ERCWeb reporting
  tables based on
• Reporting Year Start date of Center to August
  15th, 2007.

Renewal Proposal

• Year 3 Renewal Proposal is due to NSF 5 weeks
  before 3rd site visit date.
• Site visit date in Jan, Feb or March of 2009
• Year 3 Renewal Proposal contains ERCWeb financial
  tables based on
• Current Award Year (Year 3) budget
• Prior Award Year (Year 1,2) actuals
• Proposed Award Year (Year 4) budget
• Year 3 Renewal Proposal contains ERCWeb reporting

• Centers should augment Renewal Proposal narrative
  and presentations with more recent information
